as to fixing the broken laptop charger's tip, i used:
a new surprisingly cheap yet efficient solder gun, my moms old trustee glue gun, a cutter,

and obviously a solder wire.
oh, and duct tape and some metal.
before the fix is the broken charger tip:

to start fixing the broken modded charger, i had to take off the hardened glue by firstly chopping it to bits, carefully so as to not the working wires, then after most of it was cut off, i used my glue gun and melted the rest off. this process took roughly about 6 hours. thankfully that day i had no hw.
the next day after school, i de-soldered the loose/broken wire which took 2 hours or less so as to avoid more conflicting wire problems. then i grabbed a new better wire and soldered on the new wire to the charger which is a very VERY tough task to do without a holding device.
after connecting the wire, dangerously might i add as the charger was still uncovered in the air, i grabbed the glue gun and covered the working charger in glue that i had chopped off before in thinner amounts than previously used.

with a working covered charger, i then took parts of an old broken laptop charger's brick metal casing and used those parts to cover the glued parts of the charger, thus giving the charger a more tougher structure as bending the tip of the charger may have been the cause of the loose/broken wire in the charger. user error.

then to put a worrying mind to rest, i layered the glue covered metal topped charger tip with layers of tight duct tape, possibly hopefully decreasing the chances of the tip bending by accident.
and with all that done, i have fixed my laptops' chargers' tip! and proudly name it charger 2.0!

some pics to prove it works fabulously! >:D

next thing to repair if i aint lazy, my lil sis butterfly laptop fan.

ReplyDeleteRepairing a laptop charger is quite risky. When working on wires, be sure that you are connecting the right parts of the wire to the charger before you actually do the connecting. When you are done fixing reassembling all the parts, do not plug it right away. Use the proper voltage tester to check if the connections are working.
